When seen in the dermatology clinic a range of investigations maybe performed. Below discusses what to expect in terms to how results will be communicated to you.
Blood tests, skin scrapings and swabs– when these are taken the results come to the requesting dermatology clinician. Communication around these may happen via text, letter or be discussed with you at a follow-up appointment. The majority of results will be available in 7-days (some sooner, some longer).
Procedure results – Following a procedure (skin biopsies, lesion excisions) results are reported to the requesting dermatology clinician. Results are available around 8-weeks later; this can vary depending on hospital turn-around times. If you have not had your results communicated to you or been contacted for a follow-up appointment 10-weeks after your procedure, please contact the clinical services team on 01227 284314 so this can be looked into.
